Almost Heaven West Virginia

I'm moving from LA to West Virginia, hoping to find a little piece of heaven.

I wonder if these “wildflowers” I planted will ever actually bloom or if they will just look like weeds forever. I want to clear them out so badly but Ira is telling me to be patient…

The latest blooms.

I’m attempting to cook only Paleo (with some chocolate cake added in every once in a while).  I have been using nomnompaleo.com, per my sister’s suggestion.  Above is my first recipe - sausage stuffed portobello mushrooms.  The top photo is from nonnompaleo and the second plate of little coals is mine.  They tasted better than they looked.  Ira came into the kitchen at one point and looked down his nose at the concoction I had put together, but he was pleasantly surprised with the end result.  I covered all of these up with some delicious Rao’s marinara sauce, which at $9.00 a jar is like liquid gold!

My cooking adventures continue this week…I picked up some canned treasures from Annie yesterday.  Can’t wait to figure out how to incorporate the canned green beans into our dinner.
